Hi all - I am preparing to build a site for my company, Five Feed Media. I've registered a whole handful of names but am unsure which will be the best for brandability and, more importantly, SEO. My top choices are: 5feed.com fivefeed.com 5feedmedia.com fivefeedmedia.com Your input is greatly appreciated.
The question will be: What is your brand name? And what will the user search for. I would do 5feed.com for the blog and fivefeed.com for the site.
The shorter and more memorable the better, i personally don't like numbers in domains that much so i'd choose FiveFeed.com
I would get all of them a 301 redirect them all back to the shortest most brandable domain. SEO aside, this will prevent people from typing in the incorrect URL.
Then choose one of them and ensure you 301 redirect the others. Personally I like 5feed.com because it's shorter. I doubt you'll have any serious SEO issues whichever one you choose, it's not exactly a competitive term.
True and untrue. When submitting your site other webmasters often don't link as you wish. If you have the domain name and a company called Pizza Delivery, it is easier to rank than for say Dominos. Not becuse of the reason you meantioned, just because many webmasters wish to have the company name as the link text rather than what you want for SERP
I go with the short one which is easy to type and remember 5feed.com and short domains can get more returning traffic.
