Choosing / Sticking With An Idea

I'm 23, currently living with my parents, not earning much in terms of monthly income. I don't have a job. It's a goal of mine to never have one. A few years back I was doing alright with website income, though it's dropped considerably over the years. I constantly struggle with picking an idea and sticking to it. I'm hung up on the fact that if there are no guarantees for success, and that if I spend a few months developing something that goes nowhere, that's another few months that I'm stuck living with my parents. I have some questions for everyone, and I'd appreciate any other comments.

    - When you have a lot of ideas, how do you decide on one and keep from flipping back and forth to other things?

    - Do you have any methods for estimating the value of an idea vs. the time required to develop it?

    - When do you feel it's time to give up an idea?

do you have any qualification ? It is better to start with one clear vision, a clear idea and stick with it, you will not get profit since the first moments, don't expect that !

I have a Computer Programming Diploma. 5 years of web development experience. I'm starting to build a portfolio of web design clients, though that's not what I want to get into.
