Hello, everyone, It's almost a year now since I started studying SEO. It seemed to me, I was getting it right - my new website got onto first page in google search with many keywords (which I was targeting) quite quickly - in one month of hard work. But now I am stuck - although my website is on the first page, I still have very few visitors. Keywords which I thought would be very important to my business are: "north london painters", "painters north london", "north london tilers", "tilers north london", "tiling services north london", "renovations north london", "builders north london", etc.. With all these keywords my website is on the first page, and my primary geo target is north london. I assume now that very few people use these keywords in search for builders in london (although google keywords tool shows that there are approx. 1600 searches with "builders north london"). So please, advice what could I do better to attract more visitors.
update the content regularly. if you are in the first place in google ( not getting the traffic) then you must concentrate on the content and data you are providing. Brief information Etc
The term "North London" could be too broad perhaps add a few keywords with more specific locations as well as even broader locations such as "London painters".
Keyword research is the key for online success. It is proved that multiple phrase less competitive keywords gives 70% of traffic than competitive keywords. Even you get top ranking for competitive keywords sales conversion rate is low. So you should identify less competitive, sales convertible keywords.
I checked with adwords keyword "builders north london" and found that there are only 320 searches per month, In the future choose exact results when cheking keywords with adwords.
I agree with some of the other posts, you should look at broader keywords. This will help increase traffic and likely improve your already good rankings on the very specific keywords.
Keep changing your content and definitely worth trying different keyword as well.. And you have done a great job on being on #1 rank on google.. you will get the rest soon. Good Luck!
Choosing the right keywords for promotion is an art by itself. It involves assesing the competition which is not easy at all. I would not promote a new phease to a site at any cost!
find more useful keyword with https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.If this keyword is not popular, then certainly there is no traffic.
I agree with update web page content. I would also like to suggest you that put a catchy and perfect description on ranking page's meta description area it's also a very effective place to attract visitor..
