When you are researching keywords how many searches per month do you basically plan as a minimum to use the keyword to help promote the product you chose? Using Google's keyword tool. And that'd be to use with free methods like Ezine etc Curious how many monthly searches people believe is minimum for them.

First volume is good, but more impotantly you should look for competition, because you need to make sure that you "might" rank for certain keywords. With Ezine Articles you should aim at about 15k-20k competing pages. Going for more usually gets you nowhere.
