Choosing job board software

Hi, I’m setting up a job board. I googled “job board software” and there are quite a few off-the-shelf solutions.

I want something that is likely to continue to be developed long-term.

As I understand, Jobberbase.com and Joobsbox.com are open-source. Is open-source more likely to be kept being developed long-term?

I'd have a leaning towards preferring open-source, but if there's advice that open-source isn't the best way to go, I'll listen to that too.

I guess one important factor will be the features that I will need. One way in which my job board will differ to many others is that contact details of employers relating to jobs that are posted will only be viewable to people that have membership of my site. I ‘think’ the job board software ‘Jamit’ allows this.

But I guess it’s also possible to customize other job board software packages.

So, any advice on how to choose job board software?

I’m also looking for a developer to help me build the job board into my site and to customize things.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Richard

or have someone on getafreelancer or elance code you up something and get an agreement to have them develop more for you later at added costs?

I always start projects not knowing the depth. Bid medium bids to them and get some good workers.
