Hi I've a keyword that i want to buy a domain name for but the usual .com, .net etc are taken, only .info and .biz is left. In your opinion, which of these two has a better chance in terms of SEO and SERP. Thanks PS : Its for an arcade gaming site. Competition is low, GMS is reasonably high.
Both are probably equal. You might get better ranking with.info if some keywords if they have "info" in the term.
I've never seen either rank for a meaningful keyword. I always try to get .com, .org, .net in that order.
I see..thanks.. Yeah, i've not seen much .info rankings, but i've seen couple of .biz rankings even at top spot. I've no idea where the .com or .org were for those keywords, perhaps being held for resale or something. Anyway based on the above posts i assume the preference would then be in this order? 1- .com 2- .org 3- .net 4- .biz? 5- .info?
I would think that if it had backlinks generated it could be done with most any - but who knows what the big guys are up with these other than dot com endings.
It's really not the extension that matters, rather the back links you are getting, the content, and the on page optimization.
I am totally agree with "themyspacebank.com" its not about the extension you are taking for your site its all about the hard work you do for your site the SEO technique you are using. You should get good PR back links for your site, I have seen so many .info, .biz sites performing much better than other extensions, so don't bother about extension get any extension.
I would like to say, go for a geo targeting domains like .in, .co, .ae etc which will give you added benefits in that country.
I don't think either helps in ranking. This common that people assumes .com. So if you don't get .com then take any of them.
Choosing .info or .biz. According to domain .biz that is business domain is better than information domain.
I will suggest you to try for .com if possible though info or biz is not having much difference. Try to have some suffix or prefix in domain name as you said it might be to realted to game then I can suggest some names as follows gamezone thegame mygame itsgame Try to have some of this kind of Suffix/prefix along with your keyword reach domain.
