I want to register a domain name, xxxxdesign.org but it is not available. But, instead xxxxdesigns.org is available. But I needed to concentrate on the xxxxdesign keyword only. If i chose xxxxdesigns.org as my domain name, is it still possible to rank for the keyword as i mentioned above. Can i get first page SERP's for the keyword xxxxdesign if i chose xxxxdesigns.org as my domain name. Pls help... Thanks in advance. Your Comments are Greatly Appreciated.
xxxxdesign.org would make it easier for you - exact match domains do make a difference - but you should still be able to make it with xxxdesigns.org. You just might have to try a little harder with your on-page optimisation and link building.
Exact match domain names will not be available for many prominent keywords, but if they are for long tail then they might be available and it will work well to gain SERP rankings, if they are not availabe then make sure you have the keywords coming first in the domain name and add a word to the end of the domain which you think might help your business or related to your business, may be the initials of your business name can do the trick.
Though you will have designs word instead of design, you can be able to get first page SERP for your mentioned keyword.
Choose a domain name that can be associated with keywords that you want to rank for. Such as: graphicdesign.com Would rank high for keywords such as: graphic, design, graphic design
That domain name will absolutely work. I have read an update from Googles SEO guide lines. As long as you have the word in your URL you will be OK. It'S a fact that Google reads left to right for URL relevance but I have have also found out that Google may factors under 4% for first page in the over all SEO. What you need to focus on are your pages around the the site. IE Article marketing, press release, facebook (2.0), Sqiudoo, Links ect Steve
