    Hi all,

I was looking at a domain name to purchase. This domain has the word captain in it (not the word i'm targetting) and a keyword after it..I like the name.

I searched captain in google adwords to see if people don't know how to spell it and this is what I found:

    captin - 110,000 (not a word)
captan - 49,500 (is a word but I don't see many people wanting to search for it)

So it looks like approximately 160,000 people a month mispell Captain..i'm assuming anyway.

So would it be a bad idea to buy this domain name? I want people to remember my domain name and have no difficulties spelling it out on the address bar. Should I get something simpler?

    Thanks

Lol, that is a funny result, but i don't think you should be too worried about it.

Captain is spelled more correctly the many other words and your active users will most likely be able to remember the domain they visit so often.
Otherwise, you can count google and other search engines to correct the mistake.

^ must agree.. I would definitely go with the correct spelling for captain. There are circumstances where misspellings could be brandable but not this one.
