Choosing background for a fixed width website

    Hello!

Currently i'm working on a website, which is made from this template: http://www.templates.com/blog/we-go-retro-create-stylish-retro-website-template-using-photoshop/
However I can't figure a nice background for it... since it is fixed 1000px wide, it looks bad on bigger monitors. I've tried numerous old/burnt paper etc., but they all look ugly, distracting and they make site look smaller.
I'm really bad at the design part of making websites, so I would be very happy if someone could at least describe, what sort of BG would look nice on this template.

    Thanks!

Actually, if you know web programming it can easily be done, but if u are newbie about this its quiet hard for you...
If you want u can look at the style.css file to edit that width... usually they put that in that file... explore it...

Don't expand the width of site, 1000 px is good and it's not a big issue that site is looking small on big monitors. For examle I have 23" monitor and sites with 100% width are looking annoying because of their design.
