I saw several debates on the topic of hosting provider location and the impact on SEO and search engine rankings. As a best practice, it is recommended to host in the same country you are targeting but i'm wondering if there are any studies available that confirms location of web hosting influences SEO and rankings?
really the host can determine how many traces you have from your URL to your server - the speed of the ping can improve and decrease your site's load time. Also, you may be interested in knowing your IP neighborhood from your Hosting provider - find out which sites you are sharing a server with. If you use a fairly big name hosting provider it shouldnt have much impact on your SEO.
Hey komrad, Offshore hosting can be tricky, but just make sure you know the jurisdiction for the hosting site before you sign up. Netherlands and Turkey are pretty good offshore hosting areas, but like I said, make sure you research them quite a bit before you commit. Hope this helps! -LeadBoltMatt
yes it is, by that it would be easy to target your ranking... and linking to site that are on your target place would be also beneficial.
