When creating a new Twitter account - is it better to choose a username that is keyword rich or use a company name?

With Twitter, it's best to use a branded name. There's not much evidence that your profile is going to gain SEO traction for using keywords. For one thing, your profile is limited in the amount of content it can have and the most valuable piece of that content is the link you can add to your website. Your tweets, on the other hand, are another story. Since they are being indexed in real time now by Google and Bing, it makes sense to optimize them for keywords. Your best bet is to treat Twitter like a powerful opt-in list and go with a branded name.

It is always advisable to go for your name or company's name. Try to include keywords in your tweet... ALL THE BEST!!!

I created a twitter account with the brand name. It's preferred to use it to find targeted followers related to the site.

Branded name/copany name. Unless you are a celebrity or athlete, of course.

Depends what you want to use Twitter for, if it your business then your company name or your own name for self branding.

Company name. And if you have a short company name, you have room to be a bit cheeky. You should be able to get your branded name if you appeal to those you run Twitter.

I'd say go with a unique brand name, and make sure there's a link to your website on your profile!
