A .com would always be the better option, relate it to what your website has to offer. The shorter the better.
It is really better if you use a name that is very specific on what products or services that you have. You can also use some tools for it, and i have some free tools for it.
Nowadays it is more difficult to find a short and aproppriate domain name ... I had an idea to find it in old books where you might find specific names of something ) As for my website my dad helped me in someway )))
