A domain that is easy to remember usually a shortish domain and a .com or .net is often seen as the best combination.

people go for long domain because they greedy to have lot of keyword in one domain. But this usually is a wrong methods.
i ensure that short domain would be better which only contain the most two keywords and will be easy to remember.
Domain Name play the role of brand name. So will you put a long name for a brand name. i think not.

I think that a meaningful domain is the best. A short domain which has no meaning is even difficult to SEO

You need to find a balance between short, meaningful and easy to remember. Good luck!
