I contacted Chitika on October 28th stating I would like to use real-time contextual mode. Here's the text of my e-mail The same day I received this reply: At the time it said in the eminimalls code section to contact support to activate real-time contextual mode. I noticed that's gone now. I followed up on this request at least a dozen times. Most of the times my e-mails were ignored, but I did get a few "we're looking into it" replies. Today, 3 months later, I get this: Anyone know what qualifies someone to be a "Chitika premium client"? I haven't been able to find any info anywhere about it. btw, great support Chitika. I'll have to try that with my clients - tell them what they want to hear, ignore then for 3 months, then tell them I can't do it
I thought there was a switch in the code you could change. I know you can run these with adsense if the contextual is turned off, which is the default. I just assumed that it was available if you wanted.
I never really messed with it that much - just followed the instructions and contacted them because I wanted to give it (real-time contextual mode) a try. It's performed like crap for me and their service is the worst I've seen...so no big loss. Time to switch back to something that makes more than 3 cents a week. I'm more curious as to what qualifies someone to be a Chitika premium client -if there even is such a thing. Based on my interactions with them so far I wouldn't be surprised to find out there's no such thing as a Chitika premium client
just change ch_non_contextual = 0; to = 1; and it should work. It worked for me, but it didn't work all that well so I just used keywords.
I believe ChiChika's Premium client is someone who brings in a lot of traffic to thier advertisers. Then Chichika divides the CTR by approx. 1K and you get 2c a week. But you have to keep your mouth shut to qualify for that title "Premium". After I make the $50.00 with them, I'll take it out, or at the most put Chichika's ads at the very bottom in my pages where people can click on them if really interested to see what a price hit they'll get. ............ If there was such a space as "the back of a web page" I'll put them right at the bottom left corner.... Good luck though!
