Chitika placement advice. Which do you like best?

I'm still trying to figure out the optimum placement for chitika on my blog. I have a "banner" sized chitika block on most posts on my index page. I think the tall "blog banners" are too big for the index page. I'm just trying to figure out where the blog banner should go on the "full story" page. Here are my thoughts:

If I put it near the top of the post, people who have just clicked the "more" link from the index may be likely to scroll right over it, as they're probably wanting to read the rest of the post. If, however, I put it farther down on the page, I may lose some people who follow a link directly to the detail page, rather than hitting it from the index.

So, which of these do you think is going to be best all around:

    - Near the top
    - Middle of the page:
    - All the way at the bottom

ProBlogger Darren puts his blog banners all the way at the bottom of the page in his digital camera blog. Maybe that's a good thing, though I hesitate to put anything I want people to see all the way at the bottom of a page.

Any thoughts much appreciated. Have a swell day!

I have a new page at http://made4linux.homelinux.org/sound.html where I am going to try them as a major part of the article.
The site is still very much in the formative stage and a lot of it is empty so far, but you have to start somewhere. I'm hoping to make it successful.
Thanks to usedmac for the inspiration on the top ad trio :D

From my experience the bottom placement for product review articles works the best

That's right. Just after youve finished convincing someone they have to have what you are trying to sell, you give them the link to click.

Well, that makes a lot of sense, but I just have to imagine that very few people will actually read all the way down to the bottom of these pages. If they were shorter pages, I'd agree with you 100%.

What I mean Gary99 is having a Chitika to click at the bottom of each "review" not at the bottom of the page.

Hmm, not sure I'm understanding what you're saying. You mean I should have multiple chitika blocks on each post? One under each review? Take a look at a post and tell me where exactly on the page you'd put the chitika:

    Thanks for your help,

Why not have one at the top and the bottom then?

Wow there is a ton of ads on that page. I would leave the Chitika one where it is but remove the small Google ad you have. Unless of course your CTR on the Google ad is good.
