Anyone else notice this? I'm not sure if their UA allows me to say how low specifically, but it's in line with a mediocre adwords click in my market now...
Hmm.... I've done some testing... and it's odd because a certain product one day will payout a different amount it appears. But no, I haven't seen a dropoff at all, it's been pretty steady.
Yeah I have noticed that the price I have been getting per click SEEMS to have gone done. Hard to tell totally though because I have added some new sites and a new mix of products, so I can't know if other factors were the cause or a decrease in payout was the issue.
I find that it goes up and down depending upon the day and which of my sites is getting big or little traffic (ie I suspect that some of my sites do better than others with Chitika and as a result different ads are being clicked on different days meaning overall average click value is varying quite a bit between days).
Statistically, you need a lot of impressions and clicks to really judge what's going on. Unless you're talking about a large sample of clicks, I wouldn't worry too much about some fluctuation. Also, I don't think anyone knows how Chikita's pricing structure works at this point. Especially if you're using the manual version of Chitika, you also have to realize the exact same keywords will bring different products and advertisers day to day.
Can you explain how you are getting this detailed information? All I see is my total for the day...which has consistently been in the .20 area. Thanks.
While I admittedly don't have a statistically significant sample, I have gone from consistent 38-80 cent range to 11 cents per click 2 days in a row... I guess I'll just see what happens.
I already had an $0.08 click and nothing bigger than $0.50 I think, so it is quite close to AdSense...
I had my absolutely best day with chitika yesterday, I get too many clicks to say how much they pay, except very well.
I've tested a set run of ads of the same product, and the clicks vary in payouts, so I think it's some new system for time of day, or if people follow through on a sale, the payout is higher. I know one of my readers told me he went and bought a specific product through my ads, and I noticed a BIG jump for that day, at least 5 extra dollars. I'm wondering now if readers DO BUY, if they cut you more of the action. That would be very cool.
Went back up to over .60/click yesterday, same keywords, so you guys are correct, there is a fair amount of variance.
I set them as my default/PSA replacers for Adsense and must say they are outperforming adsense in the first day and they are DEFAULTS. So adsense is getting way more impressions and still made less yesterday.
