I was on a uk website running Chitika and spotted something of interest, clicked on the link (no need to thank me ) and was taken to a US site. I couldn't see any little uk flags to click on or anything so I closed the browser window. The name was a familiar uk high street one so I was a little surprised and disappointed. Chitika needs to get geo-targeting sorted out in a hurry.
Don't forget that Chitika eMinimalls is still in beta form. I could see geotargeting start to happen once they have more advertisers signed up and the program moves out of beta. You could probably send an email to and make that suggestion though.
I noticed this on my own sites too... You're right - geotargetting would make a huge difference. As a side note, what's the deal with the search tab? Do we get paid for that too? If so, it would be quite nice to have the search tab as the default (As an option) - I imagine it would get used a fair bit on some of my sites.
I have actually found that the description default works best for my site. I currently have a Google search box on the site also. It probably depends on the topic and layout of the site which default tab works best. We should start to have some concrete results as to which is better on this forum in the near future since channels are now available.
