    Has this been fixed? I'm running chitika in my website but I haven't received any feedback from visitor about spyware or any of those viruses.

    If you read the previous responses you will see that it only happens whenever some specific conditions are met.
    The responsible party is not Chitika at all.

    Yes Chitikia is responsible - the ads are being serverd through THEIR ad server. And I just signed up and posted the code. They have a big issue that needs to be fixed.

    The problem is fixed, and we got a little help from McAfee in tracking down the offending code. We've added more failsafes to our system, so advertisements are more stringently screened before they go anywhere (they were checked before, but people had gotten around our screening).

    Sorry for the inconveniences... from our end, it took a while before we could get a report on exactly which ad was bad. It was an image backup ad, but again, we've gotten it fixed.

    Simply don't use image ads, and you'll be safe, personnally I use the option for the chitika ad to collapse (become invisible) if they have no reason to show (no us & canada traffic from search engine)
