Chitika eMiniMalls - How much do you make?

Ok I have Adsense and Chitika eMiniMalls on my page now and although my Adsense per day has dropped a bit yesterday I made more than triple what I lost off of the eMiniMalls instead. This was my first day using them.

How much do you make per month off of eMiniMalls compared to Google Adsense?

I use Chitika on sites that also have Adsense. For my topics, primarily business and technology, Chitika doesn't do nearly as well as Adsense. Would you mind sharing what niche or general category you have success with Chitika in? I am dusting off some general interest sites (cell phone, AOL, humor, etc) that appeal to teens to see how Chitika might work.

Cell phones should do well. As you can see, Chitika is really product-oriented.

The difference might be attributed to the type of user on your site, not just the site topic. Are they after information or are they browsing for leisure? Leisure browsing sites do well with Chitika.

Yeah, I don't think by business and technical audience is clicking on the ipod or camera that much. I added Chiticaka to my old leisure sites and started pushing a lot more traffic to them last night. Adsense jumped up and we'll see how it goes with Chitika.

I just began implementing Chitika in my personal-finance site a few weeks ago. Adsense has been a fixture there since December 2004. Chitika's on very few pages so far, but it's been getting clicks here and there. At its current rate, I'll be getting money from them each month, but not much over $10.

Mostly, I think, it's a matter of figuring out how to best implement the Chitika ads on my site overall. I can find some topically-related products in their offerings, but not a great many.

Hopefully that can change over time . . ..

    Storyteller,

I have a few financial credit card sites that do OK with AdSense. What kind of Chitika ads are you serving for your visitors? What products are you offering?

Do they have financial contextual ads or just hard-good products?

I don't think that replacing Adsense completely with Chitika is a good idea. I mix the two. As my signature indicates I was doing a five figure sum with Adsense on a range of technology, employment, music and video sites. It's still the case that some pages are better suited to Adsense (particularly pages where Chitika don't have a strong db of ads). Even on pages that are ideal for Chitika I mix the two and blend Adsense into columns/headers/footers and leave Chitika in very bold positions.

I should make a five figure sum from Chitika this month and it should be about 150% of what I made in Adsense last month. But, because I haven't stopped all my Adsense ads Google will still pay me about 75% of what I used to make before. Overall... I'm much ahead :) By mixing Google and Chitika I've more than doubled my income overnight (well, it took a fair few days to implement the code on a range of vastly different sites).

As far as the Chitika ads, I show ads for financial software, financial magazines, Dell laptops & desktops (I couldn't do MY finances without 'em) ... that sort of thing. Amazon affiliate ads for personal-finance books and books I review.

As far as my "products offered," it's purely financial advice. Education site with a blog thrown in for fun. Free spreadsheets. I'll be making my first attempt here shortly at selling a fancy spreadsheet or two. Have no idea how that'll turn out.

But I'll never know if I don't try, right?

By looking for keywords it's advicable to visit some of the advertisers of the eMinimall system like shopping.com and look for nice products there and target them directly or a category in general...
