P.S. If you really want to make money, besides with Adsense, you have two excellent choices: Here's one - and here's another.
CTR and revenue is down for me as well. I think I will have to spend the weekend working on placement and incorporating Adsense back into my pages. On the plus side my referral revenue is almost as much as my own revenue so I must have picked up a good site as a referral.
I had 74291 pageviews yesterday and earned $19. I'm back to adsense and will run chitika as fallback ads.
My revenue in Chitika went down by 75%! If Chitika doesn't do anything about this, it's going to be a dead horse.
I notice that they've made more changes today. It seems that the link is now at the top of ads which I think is a good move. They've also removed the price from the link which could be good too. Maybe they are tweaking something each day to test what works best. Hopefully with each day's tweaking we will see improvements.
I had low midweek traffic but still managed to pull in about 10% conversion. Revenue is the same with the same spread of clicks between my two sites as well. My overall week has not strayed far from my normal 20% conversion so I'm still doing okay for now.
You could be right, kniveswood. But it also helps that most of my visitors come from search engines (mostly MSN) landing smack in the middle of the page they were looking for with their search term
I pulled the chitika ads tonight. Revenues for yesterday were ridiculously low. I'll give em one more chance with todays revenue. If it is reasonable, I'll consider putting them back up. If not, no loss for me. I was doing just fine without them using Adsense and YPN...
I just checked my site and Chitika has done some more changes with the layout on my ads. I actually like them better now. The clickable region is on the top of the ads. It should help the CTR with the ads. Anything would be better than yesterdays results which were about 100% less than average.
It depends on your site, spdude. I have a videos site, get thousands of impressions, and just a couple of clicks. But on sites where I have information about electronic devices my CTR is over 30%
The site where I previously had a large success with chitika - http://zindy.zone.dk , just isn't working under the new format, it's really not geared to do any preselling of products. It's a site showcasing drawings and my success depended on knowing the visitors general interrest (art and celebrities). I'm going to keep chitika in a few places like the tutorial section where specific products are mentioned, and if I make sites that are more product oriented I'm definately going to stick chitika on. But right now my main focus is getting back to adsense and making it show more relevant ads and actually generating some revenue from the quite large ammount of traffic I have.
