I am curious to see how this plays out. I am a big fan but if my revenue drops - it could become "was" a big fan.

I shall see how it goes for today, but my prediction is that even with adsense @ 2 cents a click I will be making more then with the new Chitika ad format.

I actually understand what they are trying to do, I bet they got tons of fraudsters who where kicked from adsense flocking on them, and have to prove to the advertisers that there is a genuine interrest in the leads they provide, it just still sucks :)

My stats still only shows a single click today, so I strongly suspect they changed something break tracking the clicks - 20.000 pageviews and 1 click can't be right regardless of the ammount of clickable text.

Believe me, I've had worst before when I didn't optimize my ad placements yet (and that was with the old format).

Well.. yesterdays stats are here now - the change wasn't implementet from the start of the day so I only expect results to get even worse.

I had a 15% fall in CTR, doesn't sound like that much but it's $38 in lost revenue - and that is after chitika added 10% to the CPC.

Based on yesterday, my guess is that I'll probably lose $100/day the least in revenue with them :(

yesterdays stats tells me that my ads are performing the same as before :)

maybe today's stats (which we'll see tomorrow) will paint a better picture.

Revenue down around 25% for me. If this continues another couple of days, I'll have to put adsense back up or find a way to combine both as many have done here.

It's not over yet, Sal. I'm sure Chitika is still doing some tests to figure out how to strike a balance to make both advertisers and publishers happy. Right now look at Chitika's format page. The medium rectange (300 x 250)'s format had been changed a bit. The top part is clickable again. Though it still shows the merchant, it doesn't show the price. Remember Chitika is still relatively new. It's still trying to see which format will work best. I think it's really good that they're doing this.

Based on today's stats, I'm quite surprised to see I'm still having one of my best days in Chitika. But I'm sure the change has not yet been fully reflected. I guess we'll see the real thing tomorrow.

    Today's stats arrived.

I went from 0.15 CTR to 0.02 CTR. Earnings went from $140ish to $30ish.

    Thank you chitika!

Yes, CTR is very bad indeed. This is so upsetting! Furthermore there will be auditing. Suddenly the high payouts doesnt look so attractive anymore... :(

I'm already geo-targeting my chitika ads, so auditing shouldn't be a problem on my part. However if it stays like this, there's not much to audit anyhow....

CTR down from 0.31% to 0.09% yesterday :(

I'm guessing it must be hitting Chitika's wallet harder than mine?

    Cheers

Not only that, if publishers drop the program completely it will hurt them even harder.

That's exactly the one! But really - something is wrong.. When Adsense first started, everybody raved about it. Now, after all this time, people still love Adsense.. Chiquita Banana hasn't been around for a month and people are already bailing... This boat is sunk...
