Ok I have been searching for reviews and help with the Chitika AdPro service, but they seem hard to come by? Has anyone here used it and what are your opinions? Do you actually receive paying advertisers or is it a waste of time? What is the average advertiser willing to pay for a day of advertising on your website or blog? When you initially set up say a 125x125 ad zone does it just remain blank until an advertisers fills it, or should a eMiniMall be appearing until an advertiser buys the spot? I also tried using one of their "Advertise On This Site" promotion links as a test, but it just goes to a blank screen when clicked? Thanks for any help, Sport
Hey Sport, Well I can't answer the first question but I can give you some insite on the others. 2. There have been some paying advertisers, although we have not seen a great conversion due to some confusion with the way the zones are set up and how to price them. Although we have made some changes to make the system a little more user friendly, be on the lookout for some improvements to this in the next few weeks. 3. This all depends on the traffic for your site. We do know that leaving your default at $100 will not get you anywhere ( which is why we also lowered that ). The simple thing to do to determine a fair price for your site is start off with what you make daily now. For instance if you have 5,000 imps a day and your eCPM is $3 you could charge $12-$18. 4. Yes a 125x125 unit will show an eminimall if there is no ad for that space. However it is possible that the 125x125 units will be discontinued do to lack of use. 5. Sorry about this one we had made some upgrades to our system and caused the page to break when loaded. Hope this answers your questions. Matt
The one issue I have is that it appears AdPro advertisers are only allowed to submit ads in the same format as Adsense. I doubt google will allow them to appear on the same page. What would be nice is if advertisers could submit actual graphic banners.
Currently AdPro is only banner ads. Also the text ads, even though they appear to be in the same format as Google, they are being used in our minimalls as to not upset any of our publishers . They are in this format for familiarity with advertisers.
I've been trying it for several months, but I get few advertisers. I suggest you using Google Ad Manager instead, it's much better.
One thing I noticed better with AdPro than Google Ad Manager is that Ad Manager only lets you set up ads in the CPM or CPC format. Where the Chitika AdPro actually lets you simply define a set price for a day of advertising on your site regardless of the amount of traffic a site generates unless I am understanding it wrong.
