Posted just for fun.... Not that I condone going after the Chinese market right now. Too many issues unless you read/write Chinese and understand the market. Pew has some interesting demographic stats on men/women, Latinos, etc. http://www.pewinternet.org/PPF/r/218/report_display.asp The world map of internet usage is interesting. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Internet_users_by_country_world_map.PNG This is also a nice grouping of world stats by region and country. http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm
Not bad news at all! New markets for everyone! A bigger pie, and we can all take a slice if we want. Mandarin and English will be the most heavily used languages on the internet, and the growth for other languages will still be strong. This is good news, guys and gals. Translate a few Chinese pages for your sites (or pay someone to translate) and KAPOW - you nearly double your audience. How can that be bad?
Asia has a huge population that's why It will be intrested a pocentage i'm SURE North America is 1 Europe 2 and the rest as for procentage
USA is the largest user by country, but India and China have much larger populations. Indian surfers generally like/use English, so that is good news as they grow. The world is going online. Good for us!
Asia also has a low internet penetration rate. The North American (especially USA) market is not going to grow as fast as the rest of the world. Gear up by translating some pages to French, Spanish, Italian, and maybe even Korean, Japanese, or Chinese. You already know everything else about SEO and have a site, experiment and make it multilingual.
