My impression... and how slow this is, that this is a one way proxy. Any site you go to will show up because it's loaded dynamically, (from what I read in this thread). It wouldn't even be in google if someone didn't link to it somewhere. As someone said, it may be a way to get around chinese filtering. Since it seems to be an UP only proxy, I doubt a man in the middle attack would work. The data comes to you through ibu, but they can't fake SSL certs and such. Also, when you submit data, it seems as if it would go directly to the site. They may be able to steal data, but they would have to fake a cert somehow, or someone would have to ignore the fact that they are at the wrong site. It could be a phishing scam I suppose, someone should email them and ask what the deal is. =) (Like you ever get a response from those spammy .ch bastids.) Heh!
Rumor has it: It's a way to get illegal/censored content into china. The site is copying the user requests, so they are visiable behind the great firewall of china. tom
It's quite the paradox... they have all that trouble getting "illegal" content in, but seem to have no problem sending viagra and cialis ads out. =)
Yeah. But seriously, I heard the 'special offers' we get is santioned since they draw more money to China, but information does not flow freely back to the individual web surfers. So this site that keeps getting mentioned as a hijacker, is acting like the underground railroad sneaking information into China. So many be we want to be bery-bery quiet now. tom
