They already have for years, Baidu , which controls over 65% market share (even when google was there) due to illegally allowing MP3 downloads.

Seems like China is really sensitive to info's concerning their government and regulations. This is not going to stop the people from accessing Yahoo though. I can't imagine how people are deprived of info's as Yahoo is one of the top search engine.

Maybe China got open market, but in the internet field they act like communistic country, there must be only one and equitable search engine.

Proxies dont work here in China, I got over a dozen IPs in California, not sure about VPN. Over here in China, facebook, twitter, blogspot, youtube can't be viewed. They are killing the foreign competitions so that domestic copycats can survive, like Baidu (Google copycat), QQ(facebook), youku (youtube), taobao(ebay), for example. Bad for chinese people, good for westerners who continues to pull ahead in technology, and big plus for Indians who has free access to information as it gives them a competitive edge.

China is a communist country which translate to "restrictions", so this really shouldn't be a surprise to any one. What we need is to stop trading with them until they become more freer. Stop buying Chinese junks.

This will definitely be a dark side for the ruining of the Chinese economy if not today it will be in near future and the Chinese people at that time wont be able to find the reason for the situation at that time in the future....So the people of china who are making such rules be ready for a near to-be a somewhat bad future....
