As some of you may Know I own a search engine, CometQuery.com. Now my questions are:

If a user searchs for chiLd porn via my site and {I don't thinK they WiLL} finds it, am the one in the wrong?

With Site ThumbnaiLs users can make a thumbnail which is stored on the server, what if a user creates one of a child porn site. I woud delete but it might taKe me hours to find.

With Cache. I cache images of websites {never published, but means webmasters can PM me if they Lost data}, same with ChiLdporn issue.

Google never had an issue. Neither did Rapidshare or other file hosts. Even big torrent sites can't get taken down for that.

Agreed. It shouldn't be a problem.

First of all, let me commend you for being concerned about this issue. I would like to see all search engines do their part to eradicte this scourge from the face of the earth. I would hope nobody would hide behind "free expression" issues to support child porn.

Second of all, there is always a first time for making someone an example. While few will probably take on Google, they could see your search engine as an easy target and come after you. In our litigious American society, you probably fully understand that this is a strong possibility.

Best wishes to you...I can't imagine how difficult it can be to maintain any kind of a search engine.
