Actually I'm not...my ribs show through so I can guarantee I'm not sucking my gut in..If I suck my gut in it looks real odd at the moment, about another 4-5 inches in...

the marks you see are actually where my six pack would/will form if it ever comes through...;)

:D I believe you, just don't try to get more of your mid-section because that's already been ''processed'' enough.
Getting those abs would be the next thing to achieve

Do you do chin-ups? Those really help as well for your stumic development.
Hand palms forward - grab the bar - hang for a second -spread widely and lift your knees in a 90 degree position - and pull yourself up.

Great for your back - chest - shoulders and the upper part of your abs.
I know because i did a set of three last night and i feel them thightning up like mad.
Just need to get rid of the fat deposits around my navel.

Now that's the real task at hand for me

    @ EDZ...

I'm hoping to do more chinups soon. I'm already doing 8 sessions a week and maxing them out to the point I can't do any more reps... As soon as I can though I plan on adding a few more items to my routine or changing it up..;)

Same here,,,last real fat deposit left. The stomach area suck!...

:D What deposit man? I have a football sized pack of fat that i need to get rid off. You only need to do some trimming so to speak...i guess you have come a long way compared to before?

I'm just getting a lipo man to fix it  just kidding, scared shitless of it when viewing these procedures on tv!

I do need to do a lot cardio to get rid of the fat deposits i have build up. It's just so frigging hard to maintain a diet without any chocalate potato chips and stuff.

Yeah I dropped over 50 pounds, well more than that if you include the gained muscle in the last 5 or so months...;)

Do what I did, 1-2 hours of cardio every day, then slowly switch into hitting the weights.. I don't even do cardio anymore..or next to nothing at least..

Tell me about the snacks,,,my idea of junk food now is a protein shake or protein bar, some almonds and that's about it. I have a very strict diet. I even bring my own food to parties, events, etc to make sure I get good food sources...

Now I hit the gym first thing in the morning Monday-Friday, go in for a second work out on Tuesday and Friday and a light leg day on Saturday.. You just need the mind set :)

Yeah i got to bar up the hours in the cardio department, at most i cycle for half an hour. But i really don't want to stop lifting weights since i just got started again and picking up in strenght and how do you say that...getting in the zone?

I am getting used to it again as in the beginning of picking up things i would be easily distracted or demotivated in contrast to now i feel the opposite.

I don't have long lifting sessions. Since i only do two muscle groups per session so i can easily schedule a cycle session in between. But 1- 2 hours? That's gonna take some adjusting :)

Taking your own food to parties :D haha, you're really taking it to the next level

Yeah I know what you mean, if you're lifting keep going for it...

I did multiple cardio sessions a day, usually 2 30-45 minute sessions or at times 2 - 1 hour sessions.

Yeah my own food, plus my supplements...When I lift I go hardcore... Just hope I can get back to what I used to be, then post some pics.. Another 3-4 inches on my arms at least should be expected :p

I hate long work outs so I do - Evolutionary Fitness - Crossfit.

    The tabata protocol rules!

Kids choose to eat what all the McDonalds and other junk food commercials tell them too.

I remember when I was 7 years old and my town got its first McDonald's and I was so excited.

We went on the opening day.

    I was hugely disappointed.

I thought the food tasted like plastic crap. Luckily social proof didn't have much effect on me back then.

    So do steroids ;)

On a more serious note, when I move at the beginning of next month I plan to make some changes (like having a daily routine) that include my diet and exercise. I'd like to gain 20 lbs.

PS: if you want that 6 pack... you gotta get back into doing more cardio. It's the only way. :)

I've never seen a person who could burn ALL the fat off their body (the abs are the HARDEST place) without cardio. It's next to impossible because it's the hardest place to lose.

Well, i think GRIM is referring to an increase in muscle causing an increase in your base metabolic rate - the amount of calories your body burns while resting just to keep your body functioning (breathing, brain functions, keeping yourself upright with you backmuscles, etc). This increase in the BMR is important as the basic philosophy behind weightloss is that you must burn more calories than you take in (which is why if you want to lose weight you HAVE to do cardio. The calorie defecit to lose a kilo of weight is suprising high, between 7800-9000 calories...)

And the reason that the abs are the most difficult part to target is because you can't target them :p the belief that you can target fat spots is false - when your body starts to burn fat, it starts off with the deposits in your face, hands, etc. Ie, all the 'minor' fat desposits. As your lower regions (ass, stomach, thighs) are the main stores of fat, these generally get attacked last. This is because you body stores fat incase of a time of no food, so it will always try to keep some reserves behind as a precaution.

    Yes, exactly. That's what I meant :)

I know you can't target spots for fat loss, what I meant was it's the hardest place to lose the fat, because like you said, it's where your body stores it. Many people have the misconception that they just need to exercise the abdominal muscles for growth to see them, when in reality, most people's ab's are plenty big enough, they just need to trim off the fat. :)

Yeah, that piece of advice often causes confusion: "To have good-looking abs, just lose the fat!" Very simple advice, but seems to confuse ppl to no end XD
