Well, Da Bears had the day off and the White Sox have the division wrapped up so I decided to take a Chicago Architectural boat tour. Here are some pix- Tribune Tower RR Donnelly Center The "L" Merchandise Mart
Those are some impressive looking buildings bit too much a concrete jungle for my liking. Any change of the gallery here being reopened for stuff like this.
Glad you liked 'em Andrea. I've lived here my whole life and this was the first time I've done a tour like this. It was pretty cool (minus the annoying dutch people behind me )! Chicago is definitely one of the most diverse cities (architectually) that i've ever seen. And this tour was only of the buildings along the river.
I hear "trump tower" and always think is sounds like a euthanism for farting. Anyway, enough thread hijacking.
The Trump Tower will be the second tallest building in Chicago. Back in the 90's there were plans to build "7 South Dearborn" which would have been the tallest building in the world. But the financing fell through and the property was foreclosed before construction was started.
Ahhh... I love that city. I'll be back in Chicago for a visit on November 30th and then will be moving there in early 2007. CANT WAIT!!!
