Has anybody got any expereince of measuring progression rates through the payment process? My client has used Actinic v6 to create an online music shop www.haydockmusic.co.uk I am trying to improve the sales and have used a web anlaytics package to do some funnel analysis on visitors looking at progression rates from the home page right through to the payment received page. We use SECPay as our PSP. The progression from product sections to sub categories to product detail pages are really high between 60-90% which indicates that our visitors are interested in what we have to sell. This is good as they are spending a lot of cash on AdWords. We see that 62% of visitors who place a product in the cart progress to check out but then there is a precipitous drop at this stage. Only 15% of customers then go on to successfully make a payment. Why do so few people successfully make a payment here - presumably the decision to buy has already been made. Also the payment process seems to be pretty standard and painless. May be we are tracking the wrong payment confirmation page? Anybody got any experience with Actinic? Can anybody tell me what an average progression is at this stage? Jim Williams Managing Director
