Who knows? I find it hard to believe Google gives NO weight to anchor text in nofollow links - so many people are nofollowing outbound links that G would be running out of meaningful data if it did not take these into consideration too in some way! Hard to prove - perhaps someone should do a little test campaign for some low-interest keywords, building backlinks ONLY with nofollow links, and see what happens
Hi typhoon, Thanks for the article. Good information about “nofollow†and “dofollowâ€. Your article will be very useful for beginners. Hope to see more articles.
Thank you all for such a good response..I am going to have a contest in cumming days for which I m looking for sponsors.. there are almost 20 sponsorship prizes which I have received worth $150 more till now..If you think you can sponsor some prizes then check this link: http://www.smartbloggerz.com/2008/11/sponsorship-required-for-smart-bloggerz.html
I also use SearchStatus adds on for checking nofollow links. Your article has a nice step-by-step instruction on how to check dofollow/nofollow links. It's really useful for newbies in seo.
Guys, I am having issues determining if a blog is nofollow or dofollow. I have downloaded the search status tool bar and I am using firefox. I have also enabled "highlight nofollow links", but don't know where to look for the highlight. I know it is a really simple question, but I can't figure it out.
Something weird is happening with my backlinks. I have done some nofollow comments by accident and they are showing up as links in yahoo and a couple other search engines. Is this normal?
Yes, I think so - if you use Google Webmaster Tools you will also see nofollowed links appearing in your list of external links. That's one of the reasons I do wonder whether the SEs completely disregard NF links, or whether there might not be SOME value in them. It may not count them for Pagerank purposes, but maybe the anchor text counts for something... Who knows.
Hi typhoon, Thanks for your concern regarding the issue , I too had noticed the nofollow and dofollow links.I had bee n searching for the information ,Thanks for your efforts and the article is worthwile reading it.
