Hello. I have 6 keywords that I am monitoring for position. We have two ads that we are trying to achieve position 1 and 3. We are doing pretty well, however I have noticed when checking position in one browser, the results all of a sudden don't make sense. It's hard to describe, but I will try. For example, one thing I will notice is that only one of our ads will appear, and additionally there will only be one page of sponsored listings. The link at the bottom of the sponsored listings that usually says "More Sponsored Links »" no longer appears. Hitting search again doesn't change the results, and in fact sometimes removes all sponsored listings. I then copy that keyword and paste into a different browser, and then the results look as I would expect. I have tried Firefox, Safari and Explorer and have witnessed this behavior in each, only to then switch to one of the others at the time, and then the next browser works. I have also had a coworker replicate the same issue. So it doesn't appear to be specific to my computer or browser. Now I should say I am not doing heavy repetitive searches, and I am certainly not clicking on any of the sponsored links. My first thought being I was wondered if Google thought I was trying to spam or abuse the paid listings. Any input or thoughts as to what is happening?
Stop doing that. Firstly if you're logged into any google application it's tailoring results to your preferences, secondly you are running up extra impressions, thirdly, you won't get accurate results. Use the ad preview tool that google supply to check on your ads https://adwords.google.com/select/AdTargetingPreviewTool
Hey thanks! Firstly, I didn't mind about that. Secondly, well, ya didnt' want to do that, so I limited my searches as much I could. Thirdly, exactly, that's why I posted here! So besides that, was Google "punishing" me then? Did Google perceive abuse?
