You simply install a variety of browsers on your own workstation. My own workstation has the following:
    • Linux - all major engines except IE's
      • Lynx - a text browser
      • w3m - a text browser and pager with table support
      • Iceweasel3 - Debian's re-branding of Firefox. It has developer's tools and an aural screen reader. The screen reader, firevox, is free. Beats the hell out of $1000 for Jaws.
      • Konqueror - khtml rendering engine, Webkit's daddy. Bug fixes and enhancements to one get folded into the other.
      • Epiphany - Gnome's native browser. Can be run with either Gecko or Webkit as the rendering engine.
      • Opera - 'nuff said
    • Vista - Runs in Sun's VirtualBox, a free virtual machine. Vista opens as an application under Linux. Shweet.:) If you prefer the silliness that is Windows, you can install VBox on XP/Vista as the host system, and run Linux as the guest.
      • IE7
      • Firefox3
      • Opera
      • Safari for Win
      • Chrome (Google's)
    • Win98 - an old box kept for legacy browsers
      • IE6
      • Firefox2
      • Opera - all major versions back to O5
All are free. There is really no reason not to use your own box to view your work in all the major rendering engines as you go.

Only on your own box can you test interactive elements of the page, such as javascript, hover effects, and links.

    cheers,

    gary

Thanks for the recommendation of browsershots.org/ Always thought there should be a better way of doing it than manually looking through all of them...plus could never check OSX/Linux Browsers...
