    Hi friends,

I checking up here at DP if you guys would be interested in the following offering I might have sometime next month:

    IBM xseries rack servers
    Dual Xeon processors (2.4Ghz +).
    4GB of memory.
RAID redundant SCSI hard disks (high speed 10,000 rpm) - 36GB +.
1500GB of transfer on 100mbps port.
    24x7 remote reboot; unmanaged.
Control panels available or bring your own.
    Colocated at PA, USA.
No spam, warez, torrents, etc. allowed.

I have a few such boxes and planning to colocate and lease them off. Spares would be ready at hand if anything fails.

To those who think what a measly 36GB hard drive space would do when we have 1TB+ SATA drives today, let me tell these SCSI RAID1 setup is screaming fast for applications like heavy SQL (busy forums etc); disk space isn't always the priority.

Please reply with your inputs, expected monthly pricing and whether you'd be interested in renting these.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd say you'd be able to get around $280 / month for that setup, depending on the datacenter.

Judging by what you specified, it looks like you're going to colo them in burstNET, which I'd say bring down the value by atleast 35%.

Who are the bandwidth providers? Thats always a big part in the price.

I'd colocate them in volumedrive's own new datacenter they built recently.

As for bandwidth providers, it's a BGP mix. Primary providers are XO communications with level3 loop coming in soon.

Forgot to mention, 2 free IPs.

Thanks for the comments so far; waiting for more... :)

    I agree with ACiD394,
If it is BurstNET , people will run away or you will need to sell them at a really low price.

It would be easier to resell BurstNET than going through the trouble. Or colo at some other DC.

As I said, it's not burstnet DC but volumedrive's own DC they recently built. Regarding the service by DC staff and network quality, it's quite good; I have a few boxes currently there and nothing to complain of.
