It took me a while but yes i manually checked first 1000 enteries out of 3.8 k in my category and results were amazing. There were only handful of actual websites listed which are repeated over and over in pages there were no more than 30 different sites rest were either expired geocities or tripod accounts or one page tripod and geocities pages which all looked awful. I wonder if they could remove those dead links and add new websites. If any editor need my service then i can count all dead links for him atleast in my own category .
You bet. Editors are very interested in removing dead links and quality control. I dont have many perms put Annie does.
Hi, I have posted my site JapaneseCupid.com and have not had it added to the directory. Do you have any ideas why it is not getting added. I would greatly appreciate your help
The first reason is that it hasn't been reviewed yet. Also, I clicked on your signature link and took a very quick look. Your site appears to be an affiliate of The Cupid Network, and if it is it cannot be listed in dmoz.org. But, I could be wrong, it was a very quick look.
The site cannot be affiliated with any other sites? If so, I won't craete a affilation between them. Let me know
I'm confused. The affiliation between the sites comes from sharing content. That means the affiliation is already created. Do you mean you'll dump your current sites and start over from nothing, using unique data to create unique sites, and have unique profiles? If this is what you plan to do, it's a lot more work but you could possibly end up with a listable site, depending on where you get your content (yourself or an outside source) In your case you may want to consider paying for a listing in the Yahoo! directory rather than dumping the sites to start over from nothing. That way you can keep what you already have with Cupid while you start your brand new site from nothing and work on getting your own unique content. Unique content can take a while. Wishing you the best on your project.
JapaneseCupid is a member of © The Cupid Network In DMOZ terms that means it is considered an affiliate of The Cupid Network. If thecupidnetwork.com was anything more than a blank page (as far as I can see) then DMOZ would prefer to list that one (when it gets around to it) which avoids listing numerous subsidiary sites that may have duplicate content.
I posted Japanese Cupid to http://dmoz.org/Society/Relationships/Dating/Personals/Regional/Asia/ The sites wont same profiles or database, instead they will have a similar look and feel and maybe share some articles that relate to dating in a whole ie. Dating Safety. Each will be taylored around the ethnic group it represents. They will have diffrent profile options and diffrent profile questions which pertain to that culture.
Well guys i guess it is all useless to tell you links becuase they are all geocities links which you cant re register.
zehrila, I'd be happy to know the links. I don't want to register them, I want to remove the listings.
I just checked 100 and got a 15% approx quality control problem rate. Arts/Music/Sound_Files/Samples_and_Loops/ Arena of Samples Emax Sound Library Free Loops UK Funk Station House Samples HuMaNwOrKsHoP KnH Music Loopmasters - second listing is a mirror of the first Loopology - dunno what that one is there for Musical Drugstore Pure Sonic Bliss - Title Remix Online Samples4u Network - redirect Tintagel Sound Archive - directories - 0 bytes Oddly this is the first *category* I have seen come up directly as a Google search result in a very long time - copyright free music - page 2. But the snippet is a bit about a site half way down the list. Weird. Can anyone explain that?
Thanks Brizzie Remix Online worked for me. Tintagel Sound Archive - directories - 0 bytes - if you click on a folder there are files inside. Everything else is taken care of. I can't explain the google thing
