The number of directory links has nothing to do with the value of a website or directory. The number of organic links would be a much better partial indicator of value.
No of directory links indicate the no of times a website has been reveiwed by editors. As you know most of good quality directories accept only good quality websites ,So if you have links from those directories it indicates that a website is a good quality website Organic links can be easily bought from other sites but that is not the case here, if a directory accepts low quality site, it would have less QR and it would set a chain reaction due to which the directory and the sites listed in it get affected
Yes, not sure how accurate you can assume this tool is. It may give some information. Like how many backlinks are from directories only. But yahoo directory and dmoz 2 of the biggest directories are only 0/10.
It's only for other directories also you can check QR of any site that has been submitted to directories
Does this count all directories? Or only established PR directories? Also will it count article directories?
All directories You can submit your directory at http://www.bigoole.com/submit.php The bot will index your directory soon and also we update our index every 15 days.
It did not return accurate information for my directory, indiecoffeehouse.com - it said there were only 9 directory links to it. That's way low. Then, just for kicks I tried a PR6 non-directory site I own, and it said there were 35 directory links to it. That is much, much too low as well. Denise
Organic links aren't paid links, so they can't be bought. They are those which are gained by visitors linking to a worthy website. best, Denise
wow Great show my directory Quality Rank : 5/10 Website : http://www.helloindex.com No of directory links: 237
Yes this is absurd to the extreme. There are a number of directory owners who have created an alternative reality geared towards making a paid listing in their directory appear worthwhile. The reality is quite different as shown by the way google is devaluing many of these directories
for indiecoffehouse.com directory backlinks from Yahoo out of 1000(I personally took my own time to get it browsing through one by one) By Bigoole.com http://www.bigoole.com/index.php?q=http://www.indiecoffeehouse.com/&c=0 http://www.bigoole.com/index.php?q=http://www.indiecoffeehouse.com&c=0 Not much difference Also we do n't index directories which are not SEO friendly ex. www.directory.com/index.php?c=567 Also another point is even though a site is submitted to 1000 's of directories in real terms only less no of directories(less than 100) really accept sites .sometimes the sites are get rejected due to various reasons.
Wow, it seems like you took some time on this, but your list is still very inaccurate; I can list many more directories than that which list indiecoffeehouse.com. And they are indeed SE0-friendly. I just tried my directory again at bigoole just now (using the link in your post that points to indiecoffeehouse.com results) and it only returned 3, not the 11 your list above. And, yes, I do know that if a site is submitted to many directories it won't be accepted at all of them, and for some it takes longer. I run a directory-submission service for a living. But I do not agree that less than 100 directories "really accept sites." There are many more. And time taken to list sites isn't really on-point here either. What we are talking about is how many directories list a given site at the present time. best, Denise
Looking quickly at Indie Coffeehouse's links report in Google Webmaster Tools, I see that more than 7% of the first 500 are from directories. To be exact, doing a quick count of the first 500, I found 37 directories. I'm not going to go through and count the rest. But my point is your bigoole tool is grossly inaccurate, whether it shows that 9 directories list indiecoffeehouse.com, or only 3. By the way, the directory.com link you put in one of your previous posts is dead. As is a navigation link on bigoole ~ best, Denise
not inaccurate! a) it has only indexed certain no of directories (8666),the directories you may have submited may not be in my list. b)It will index only SEO friendly directories(not directories like these http://www.directory.com/index.php?c=5) c)also you it will show only two different See this both results Actual total no of directory links is 12 http://www.bigoole.com/index.php?q=http://www.indiecoffeehouse.com/&c=0 (3) http://www.bigoole.com/index.php?q=http://www.indiecoffeehouse.com&c=0 (9) Also another thing directories like http://www.addurl-free.com ( major PR Free directory) has not been indexed as it does n't conform to our standarads. and I have only a list of 8600 directories and directories you have submitted may not be in the indexing list. A little offtopic: I checked your QR(Quality Rank) , and it is 0 and it may be due to one of the following a)your directory may not have been indexed by us(check it here http://www.bigoole.com/submit.php) b)Also it depends upon the quality of listings ina directory. We are constantly adding a large no of links
Yes, it IS inaccurate! A tool that returns differing results that must be added together, to get a result that is only a small fraction of the real number, is accurate by definition. Rest assured, the directories my site is listed in are SEO-friendly. And, they are of high-quality. And, by the way, what exactly are the "standards" for your 8,666 directories? There are many fewer than 8,666 quality directories out there. I'm sorry to say, your tool is pretty pointless as it returns erroneous results. My directory is listed in well over 100 other quality, seo-friendly directories - and this is not reflected in your tool's results. I'm tired of arguing about this, so this is my last post. best, Denise
The only reason I can find is My bot has not indexed a good no of directories, I think I need to add more directories in the list.
