I had a rash of customers complaining about NOT getting digital products that they orders. When I logged in to my Paypal account I discovered they had turned off IPN. When I called them they said that if they can't reach a page on a site, they often turn off IPN. What that did in my case was keep my scripts from verifying transactions, hence customers weren't getting what they ordered.
I am surprised they take such actions without any intimation and even if such process was automatic, they could also automatize generation of an e-mail notice! Somebody needs to advise them on good business practices! Regards, RightMan
Heh, I didn't even realize that you could turn IPN off. But yes, that is a pretty stupid move on their part.
