I checked the first 150 and then I got tired and started to upload new ones instead For some sites I feel that the backlinks changes very frequently. I have lost a lot of high pr backlinks.
Uh,,, my backlinks are steady or have even increased. Part of the problem might be "where" your links are coming from. Are they from spam filled directories, or directories that went off line? Were they from forums that closed? One popular method of building backlinks is directory submission. But keep in mind that directories are like any other site. They can be here today and gone tomorrow. Besides the directories that closed, google might have banned a bunch of them for being spammer link farms. 6 - 12 months is when most new sites close. From the numbers I have heard, 80% - 90% of new sites close before they are 1 year old. So if your links only last 6 - 12 months, that tells me that you are probably submitting to new directories or link exchanging with new blogs.
Google does always put a new link filter and links are always filtered out all the times. Only quality link will survive in your link profile. Quality not quantity
ohh yes, my link count is going up, may be becaz i do some link building work, and i m not check from since month. i m not sure this happen with me for my link building work or for any google changes, but i m sure that my bl going up to 74 from 17.
Remember to check your backlinks in Yahoo. Google only show max 10% of what they have in the index. Think about it - if they listed it all a guy like me would take advantage of that
google only shows what they have factored in, yahoo show the text pointing to your site, also google backlinks don't include nofollow, yahoo backlink does include nofollow. hope this clears it a bit
The ultimate question here is whether the links displayed with google are deemed "more important" or it is just a random sample. What's more, there are repeated reports from webmasters that nofollow links do appear with google - just to add to the confusion...
google backlinks seem to go up and down, both with link:www.domain.com and doing the wider search - yahoo does much the same thing though i see wider swings there than with google
Yes that's curious; I run a test with a lot of wordpress (hosted free) blogs. (all nofollow as everybody knows) Most of those links appear in my webmaster stats.
I agree. As you increase original comtent and higher pagerank sites they will stay listed in Google Longer.
