This is what he had to say to : Do you believe that a directory should have a blog?

"No. I believe a directory should be a directory and a blog be a blog." -Vic .

Very interesting reply from Vic. Vic you put a blog on your directory and you will be in trouble mate .

By the way vic i have Pmed you with few other issues i noticed at your directory that you might want to fix, didn't want to make the review look too -ve.

Yup although i am not fan of directory having blogs but still i started one, to maybe please google bit more and target few extra keywords

 

oh how I could not agree more!

With the exception to a few like (obviously) aviva, and bams(blogaboutmysite) these blogs are nothing more than Splogs (Spam) to try and gain serps.

Funny how people talk about quality and listings and rss feeds and yadda yadda blah blah blah, but turn around and splog the hell out of the SE's

 

A directory should be a directory and a blog should be a blog.

A Hybrid of the two works wonders though

Aviva got many of its back links from blog posts that got dugged.

 

but what about my blog

I use it for my own use.

 

I agree blogs can at times with directory can do good, but in extreme cases can be bad approach.

Well spotted on the Alpha Directory. Guess there are 26 letters in the alphabet after all....

As for blogs, i'll leave that to the people that know best about those and keep our directory as a directory for the foreseeable future.

Now, this man here is at his full time employment working for an international law firm so better go before people see what I'm doing!

 

Hmm, atleast someone is making good money .
