Hi There, I ve been doing SEO for www.travelsweet.com from two months. I have incremented it PR.. got good link juice for it. But the problem for it is SERPS. I did almost everything for improving SERPS .. but i never got good results for it. The site is a an affiliate version for travel.ian.com and most of the links if you can see are of the travel.ian.com I'm confused if there is any problem with the site or if there is anything wrong with my work. i know i am targeting million dollar industry. But i never targeted the keyword tarvel.. My keywords are cheap flights, vegas hotels, carnival cruise etc..., I'd really appreciate people helping me out what to do to get good results for SERPS. Your keywords are tough ones you will need lots of relative backlinks to continue moving up the ranks.
Im not saying that, but im just telling you your keywords are tough so be ready for a long road to get top rankings. Also, ensure your site gets content added to it all the time, it helps improve the authority google gives you. I would also start with smaller more specific terms like.. Cheap Las Vegas Tickets The competition is easier and you will rank faster and start to gain momentum for bigger terms!
Your main problem is that your site is all affiliate pages. Basically google sees your pages of duplicates of other sites so ONLY ONE SITE will rank for those pages. Everyone else with a copy of the pages will be thrown out of the SERPS. You must get some unique content on your site and try to get hits for those keywords. In fact, you should probably noindex all of the affiliate pages on your site and only show your own content to the search engines.
Exactly, this is why I suggested new content, fresh content is a great way. Heck you could just hire a article writer and update your site with a new article relating to your site once or twice a week and you will probablly see improvement.
Try writing an article for a long tail and than get some anchor text for it. You will be surprise how much traffic you can get just by targetting long tails. The conversion for it is higher too..
Site Information Tool shows not a bad results: Google PR 3, Alexa rank rising. And you have more than 10 000 inlinks. But I think it looks innatural for Google - get 10 000 inlinks in two months and have almost no visitors (according to Alexa). Also I would recommend to reduce main page size: 180 KB sized page is a VERY bad for SEO. Google prefers more lightweight sites. Looked into HTML code, I would only say it is horrible and overloaded with css, javascript and tables. Your site has very bad text/code ratio. Keyword Density Analyzer shows that only 5.98% of text remained after stripping HTML, extra spaces and punctuation marks. Also you have word "cheap" in title and doesn't have it in text. This is bad too.
yea... mosty of the pages are affiliates... when i started with the site there were no inner pages to the site... not even one.. but if you can see teh site now there are at least few like flights.html etc.., which i made them so that i can insert some content in to it.. yes i ll have to update the content as much as possible.. as GOTLINKS told me to focus on keywords like " cheap las vegas tickets " to gain momentum it was a nice tip.. i liked it a lot... please drop in your keyword suggestions too.. ok, wow, ok....... your completing on a highly competitive terms. nothing personal but you seem out matched. I'm not saying you can't beat the other guys I am just saying you haven't done near enough to compete. have you checked your competition? I'll give you a honest assement and I don't mean to offend just inform. ok? you only have 11,000 links you seem to be promoting a affiliate or portal site you have no edu or gov links you are not in the yahoo dir your not in dmoz either your content is next to neil your site has no news to it or pr your site has no major links your home page is pr3 your site has a total of 8 pages how much link juice can you push with that? your site offers no content your site offers no unique content your site has no hook...why would visitors go here instead of orbits or hotwire or travelocity or whatever? i can go on and on but for a starters your better off starting with targeting 3 to 4 word terms (long tail) to interior pages and boost your homepage. ***************also add original content.
