Check the similarity of pages

The content pages on my website are the short story, so when I check the similarity of the pages, some of them are more 80% percentage, and I don't know if it will effect the weight in the search index?
if so, how can it improve it?

Similarly means copied content? Two stories cant be same. It will affect ranking.

 

They are not copied content, such as short jokes, short, but funny, like 2 sentences, so ...

 

Google could see that as duplicated content, but nobody really knows how much this can affect ranking

It's about overall % of the page. it the whole page is copied it will be a problem if it's a couple of lines, and the rest of the content is unique it will be fine.

for example a quote from a footballer / politician will appear over and over again on lots of site, but providing there is unique content around it you won't get a pen.
