Hi everyone! Check the design of my new site LeadingForums.com. Please post your comments in guestbook of website.
Personally I find the site to deep, as in all the images are to big, I would lighten up on the images and maybe make them more exciting colors.
I have choosen the colors with care. Everyone has his own choice. Anyhow! Please tell me in details about the pictures issues.
as mentioned by someone in your guest book.. the white text on grey should be removed. The text is not readable at all. Also, an improved look and design of the forum will help a lot. The current design makes it look like a forum made sometime back in 1995
The default link color/font instantly bounces me off and makes me thing the site isn't worth exploring.
Exactly what i also feel. Maybe we are getting too used to the Popular CMS/ web 2.0 styled sites. It looks a bit oldish. There is a certain unorganised feel also. Just my bad eyes maybe.
Then tell me the solution. What should be the color of links and what should the font. The main thing is that everyone has his own choice. You cannot design a site according to wishes of all users. You have to make some standards and then follow them.
I was thinking where people find white text in light gray background. Now I have found the reason. My site is not working properly in FireFox. Following are the screenshots using Internet Explorer and Firefox. Internet Exploere FireFox I am looking into the problem and hope that it will be solved soon.
I think you'll find it is working properly in firefox and not IE. It just isn't working as you would like in firefox. Having said that, your site looks disjointed, the various boxes don't connect together. Your screenshot doesn't show it but in firefox there is also a grey box beneath the art, science and society forum sections. I think it is there so that the height of the boxes on the left and the right don't go out of sync. I think rather than the dark grey it needs to be a lighter grey so that it blends in with the boxes themselves.
Now I have corrected the CSS file. All problem was due to some bugs in that file. Now site displays correctly in IE and firefix. Check it at http://www.leadingforums.com
I think the color are too depressing. The site give me the impression walking on a street in a very couldy boring day.
I hope that you know its impossible to satisfy all people. May be what you like is not the choice of others.
Sweet graphic details, but the whole site looks separated into several parts. The menu could be using the same graphic approach and directory part and the main directory could be on the gray background. That would give the whole site more consistent feeling and at the same time will allow to blend ads as they could be easily placed inconspicuously and naturally.
I think it's fairly decent in my opinion. I always try and tie the colour of the website in with the theme if possible, it makes things easier on the brain.
The fonts look ok in my Firefox. The garish colors may be ok for a young market, which is a lot of forums. But a site about forums with only a guestbook?
