I came across this directory called www.nationaldirectory.com. The directory is nothing special. Clean and simple design. And, when you look at all the category pages, they're all empty.

But, what really caught my attention is that all the category pages have pr4 - pr5! I've not seen this in any other directory, especially when the directory doesn't have any content.

    Your thoughts?

pr spreads better with AGE regardless of content, this website is what, 11 years old ?, plus those categories may have had content in the past, anyway we can only speculate but i have seen this a few times in the past.

A strong directory indeed.. I wounder why the categories are empty? maybe there is no site in the submissions that meet the criteria..though its a local directory.

PR seems not related to content?

btw, this directory is using a free template while discarding the designer info...

national directory stopped adding sites about 6 years ago and about 3 years ago, owners deleted all links.

It has high PR because there are bunch of lists which still add this dead site without realizing it's VERY dead.

LOL, taking about quality of some lists and morons who're creating them

    :D

Interesting. I see a trend with the two categories/states that do have listings and suspect someone has already purchased this site and is going to use it to promote their own.

Even more interesting is that Yahoo appears to be smarter than Google on this one. Using Site Explorer on the page for Alaska found no results, not even the page itself. It only shows 3 or 4 results for the entire site depending if you use the www or not. And based on the backlinks Yahoo is showing, it would appear those who were once listed are still providing reciprocal links. The two sites I checked both still have links displayed on their homepage. Wowza.

Oh, and it does have a submit page /addurl/ but states that it is not accepting submissions.

Proof of googles superior website valuation system, LOL. :D I’m curious how many DP PR freaks will try to get listed in it.
