    Hello there,

I recently designed a new search engine and I need people to test it so I could get a feel if I'm heading in the right direction with it.

The site offers free Add URL service for webmasters or other users submitting their favorite sites in case if they were not included in the index already.

    The URL is: http://www.uppersites.com

Please send me your comments, ideas and suggestions here.

Thanks in advance for your support!

    Cheers,
    Kris

Too much text on the front page in my opinion. Perhaps you could make it smaller?

Yeah - I agree with Compterized. Try and make it more minimal. Take a look at Google, and then look at yours. See the difference?

    How about now?
Should I remove yesterday's and today's most searched queries also?

I like it. Looks clean and simple.

I assume those text links on the front page are the most searched words. You might want to mention that and put a TOP 10 or 20 search in the header? like mahalo does.

    Anyways, good luck.

Yesterday's most searched keyword block is gone.
How about the last block of text? Those links are today's most searched keywords. Should they go too?

Oh I almost forgot: the site also offers blog search and since I added safe content filter to the algo, I had to implement adult search for it too.

You can activate the blog search using blog: in front of the query and adult: for searches allowing adult content to be displayed. Should I add these functionalities as options to the front page somehow?

    Thanks again,
    Kris

    Thanks pkyi!
I just removed the most searched words title about 5 minutes ago... :)
I agree with you. People don't know what those links are doing there...
I'll put it back right now.
I already have the number of results selector as a drop-down-box on the search results pages, but not on the front page. You have a point though. So I'm going to add it right away!

    Thanks again!

I just fixed a few bugs which made the site run slowly for a few minutes. I apologize for the temporary drop in speed.

The above mentioned adjustments are done as well.

    Thanks for the comments!
    Please keep them coming!
