I get about 20 of those a day. Usually, they all come from the same 2 or 3 IP's so you can IP block them from your domain.
It doesn't cost them anything (may be some bandwidth) to send out comment spam. And some blog auto approve comment. So, why not?
One guy tried to put the same exact comment on every post of mine in both blogs I run. It said something like, that's exactly what I thought when I read the topic.

I get these ones on lots of posts on my business-related blogs. They're beyond obnoxious. Actually, yesterday I think was the first day I saw the one from your first post. I got like 10 or so between last night and today so far on various blogs.
For several of them, yes. On my business one I get anywhere from a few dozen to a few hundred spam comments a day, so I just let Akismet deal with them. But for the smaller blogs, I prefer having it run by me for now. Otherwise, I forget to check and respond to things. If they get too bad on an individual basis, I'll move them over to Akismet too. I have another weird one where I have WP installed, but haven't added a theme or content or launched it technically yet. I have someone who goes there a few times a day posting the comment "test" over and over like an idiot.
At least they took the time to make sense with their spam half the spam I get isnt even in english so it ends up being a bunch of squares and links.
