A cheque getting dishonoured or bounced is not a small thing for a huge company like Google. You can legally sue a company or a person if a cheque in your name gets dishonoured 3 times. The cheque might have been dishonoured because kks_krishna might have cancelled the cheque...maybe because he got it late or something like that. I have got cheques from Google after I had cancelled the payment. A cheque once cancelled, cannot be encashed. The amount gets carried forward to the next payment.

Well as far as I know you have to sign at the back of the check to ensure the bank to know that is for you. They have your name in the database plus your signature. That is the way they know that the check belongs to you.

I am getting cheques from Google since 2004 and have never signed a single cheque. Ofcourse, they all have been cleared till date. ;)

Almost all the cheques are deposited at ICICI apart from couple at the beggining which were deposited in UTI.

I guess its ICICI's fault for not taking your signature. How did they accept your cheque if it is mandatory to have a signature ? Ask them - I guess these guys don't want more money and are content with when money they have. Very bad business practice - maybe you should write to their head office and also inform the manager that you will be doing so. But before that ask him to give you the reason for rejecting your cheque in writing :)

I deposit all my Google cheques with ICICI...there is no need to sign the cheque.

The problem must be something else...maybe you made a mistake in the Pay-In slip.

Afterall its citibank check (at par) in INR so how they told you that its foreign exchange

Till date nobody face this type of problem IMO

Try to get that check back from them and deposit it in any other bank (if you have another bank account)

I guess the bank F*cked up somewhere and now is providing some lame reason of the signature. Ask them where does it say that you need to sign a cheque at the back.

when u get the cheque deposit it in another bank. It should be alright. You didn't cancel it right?

after your got that cleared..first thing u should do is to close icici bank account for good. The best thing you will ever do in your life. Trust me they suck big time

An account payee cheque does not require a sign at the back of it.I have got my pay pal cheque honoured without a sign, maybe there is some other problem. You should ask the manager for a note which is attached with the returned cheque, and the reason is clearly mentioned in it.
