So it's open to even more people - not just those ready to pay $34.99.

And just out of curiosity, how low can you go with a coupon?

I've never been able to even approach normal market prices at NetSol.

Their products are theirs to price as they wish, just as long as they don't make people pay for them without warning (when all they were bargaining for was the standard FREE search available at all mainstream registrars for free too).

LOL, good info. Never new. I use them all the time. Any how I just typed in

    aksdkjfjhdikfjdjwsjnvndkwskskcks

all extensions available. We'll see how fast they get taken. Except .co.uk was taken.

Say what. What kind site is

    aksdkjfjhdikfjdjwsjnvndkwskskcks.co.uk

That's way to long. Who would reg that.

Now it says .de is available and not taken. Their script is broken.

    DN Journal says:

"Over the last 24 hours Network Solutions has taken the fiercest corporate beating I've seen in this industry since the last big registrar debacle involving the now disgraced Registerfly.com. I'm sad to say that they deserve the nearly universal condemnation they have received and they will continue to deserve it until they reverse the outrageous policy that came to light yesterday.

    ..."

    Found this bit:

    http://www.webmasterworld.com/domain_names/3543456-2-30.htm

Sure wish they did those sooner.

What a way to start 2008.

    That's MUCH better.

Whether it's sufficient is a different issue.

I'm sure that's tongue in cheek, but for the benefit of those not familiar with the domain tasting loophole I thought I should point out that it costs nothing (or thereabouts) to register domains and drop them 4-5 days later if nobody wants them.

glad to here this confirmed at last, I've thought it for years!

some years back i was going to buy secureserver.net it was available everywhere, then I checked it at net sol and 2 minutes later as i proceeded to checkout, it was taken, isp net sol.

thats happened many times right up to searching for a domain for my other halfs radio station about 6 months ago, I checked them ONLY on net sol, and again, by the time i'd placed my order with pipex, domain was gone (.com)!

Perhaps one positive thing that comes out of this is that now many more people would be scared into installing Linux so they can do that too :)

They are holding one of my domains, and someone published a list on DNF and my domain was on it. I felt forced to buy it, and I did. But after I did so, I started the process to move my last domain from network solutions. And in 60 days, I'll move this. And for the others I am a technical contact, I will advise them to move to a different registrar.

In the short term this may give NS some increased revenue. But alienating customers will most certainly drive them elsewhere.
