Some of you may know about this but those who do not, here is a way to check and see and if google has picked up all of your anchor text links on a certain site. This can be used for those of you that buy alot of sitewide listings and want to know if google has picked those links up yet.

    Run this query in google

    site:www.yourdomain.com "anchor text"

    example: site:forums.digitalpoint.com "Contact Us"

    give it ty.

Yo Ban.. correct me if I am stunned here - but that merely searches the site in question for WHATEVER is in the quotes... How does that show anchors only?

I can search my site for ANYTHING using site:www.yourdomain.com + "WHATEVER text"

    Did I miss something?

I wrote an article about this actually. What you have described here is that when your searching site:example.com "keyword term X" you are finding the most relevant page in googles eyes for keyword term X on the example.com site.

If you wish to read more about finding relevant pages on sites...

This is a GREAT tactic to use when purchasing links.

In other words, if you bought a sitewide link on a site using the anchor text "seo" you can use this query to search on that site to see how many pages google has crawled so for and picked up your anchor text. Here is another example:

site:www.stockvault.net "internet web directory" I bought a sitewide listing on this site using that exact anchor text, runing that search shows me that google has crawled all those pages and found my anchor text and link, and you know the quotes will only return the exact phrase in which you typed in.

In that case, you insert your link partner's domain? to see if the page is indexed with the anchor text of yours?
