Cheapest way to renew domain?

I have a domain name I would like to keep but I can't afford the renewal fee. Is there a cheap way to renew? I do not necessary need to keep hosting but I don't really want to lose my domain.

I hope this is the right forum, I am new here

    Thanks

Try using a coupon. You can find plenty of them in the Buy/Sell/Trade - Vouchers section.

$35 for domain renewal? Your registrar's profit margin is really high...

wow that's really high, mine only $9. my suggest is just transfer your domain. its more cheaper to transfer it rather then renew using their service

$35 is very high! My registrar charges $7.5 per year for renewal!
I think you got your domain for a very cheap rate or along with any other offer!?

Thank you all for your comments and advice.
It was NOT a cheap deal at all, I think I paid around $95 for the domain name and hosting. I was totally new when I registered. I did learn a lot this year!

It turned out that I am too late. My Domain expired on 1-3-08. I read that I have about 30 days to renew. I can't access the transfer auth anymore. Am I correct in assuming I have to pay the $35 or let it go? I think it was registered with Melbourne or something.

yep, looks like you'll have to register it with your current registrar now if you don't want to lose it. Once it goes into redemption, I don't think you can transfer it until you renew it.
good luck. hope you can raise the $35 and renew before it goes.

If you renew 4-5 domain name at a time you can get good discount using coupon that normally few registrars offers.
