When Aakash Tablet was first announced by Government of India, most of people reacted by saying its vaporware. 35$ tablet as envisioned, even after subsidy, was too good to be true. Now, Aakash Tablet PC is a reality, sold in retail for 2500 INR. Students can get hand on it to half the price. In one of Aakash Tablet Review, an early adopter has expressed disappointment with tablet. Datawind, the manufacturer has already announced that new version will have better speed and battery life.

Government has announced that India needs 22 crores pieces (22,00,00,000) of Aakash Tablet. If it happens Aakash Tablet may be only internet access device for most of the targeted audience. That means India will have at least 22,00,00,000 more content consumers on internet. How will it change impact, hosting, content,SEO etc industry we will have to watch. In your opinion what positive impact it may have in general?

It is expected that a better and faster Aakash Tablet is in pipeline, by April 2011, Aakash Tablet News. Also, its possible in future we may have a manufacturer other than Datawind.
