yes, stay away from go daddy, internet marketers do not buy from go daddy, if you have intention to sell your domains, do not buy from godaddy.com, buy from name.com and namecheap.com instead.

I recently encountered www.internetbs.net through another forum which have amazing prices. Most of my domains are registered on Moniker though (www.moniker.com). GoDaddy might be largest but they have very poor prices.

Many of the cheapest registrars require you to hit certain numbers with the amount of domains you own and register to give you the cheapest prices.

However if you do not own many domains currently I would say internet.bs is your best bet by a long way. Super low prices and great support with stacks of free features like private whois and url forwarding.

Sometimes Godaddy offer domain name booking in just $1 and on Friday Name.com also offers some promotion.

So it depends on your luck on which day you got the best coupon code.

Yes, I also use this site only as it doesn't have so many ads like Godaddy which I don't like.
Internetbs has got a simply user interface which is easy to use. :)

@OP, There are a few things to note before deciding the cheapest/best registrar for your need.

If you are looking for the domains on your personal portfolio(less support required) and there are less possibilities of renewal of those domains, go for Internet.bs, they are cheapest for first year. Godaddy, name.com, namecheap, onlinenic are the other options depending on your taste.

But, in case you are looking to resell the domains, you must consider multiple other things than just the price. You need a better control panel, more responsive support, and most importantly as much white-labeled as possible. I like ResellerClub in this category, but eNom is the leader. The others(not intended for serious reseller business) may steal your clients from you.

    Hope that helps.

I use Internetbs.net and Name.com. They have so simple interface and easy to use. Godaddy has a bs interface to be true. I hate it. So slow and too much of adverts! I only buy from them when they have 0.99$ .com offers :p

GoDaddy and Namecheap seem to be the most popular. GoDaddy because it's been around for a while and rates are cheap and Namecheap because it has a large majority of satisfied customers who have never faced any hassles.
